Editorial policy and how we are funded
What we publish, what we link to, how we are paid and how we fix mistakes.
How we are funded
BookieLens is published by Avenmark Media. We have no commercial arrangement with any operator at the time of writing. Visit links are marked as sponsored in case that changes.
If that changes, the disclosure beside every Visit button will say so, and we will change this page in the same update.
Which businesses we link to
We link only to businesses that the Gambling Commission register shows with a current remote betting licence. We do not name or link to an unlicensed site as an option, and we have no pages about casino or bingo sites. We explain how the list is built on its own page.
A gambling business without a licence is acting illegally and the Gambling Commission can take regulatory action against it. Illegal activity can be reported to the Commission confidentially.Source: Gambling Commission
A Visit button is a link marked as sponsored and not to be followed, which tells search engines that a payment could be involved. It goes to the website the register names for that business. We do not rank the businesses and we do not rate them, so being on the list is not a recommendation.
How we write
- Facts about the law, the register, help and complaints come from the regulator and other official bodies, and each one links to the page it was read from. Each page shows the date its sources were read.
- We do not tell you that you are likely to win, and we do not use bonuses to sell a business.
- We do not give betting tips or legal advice.
- Every page shows the age limit and the national helpline.
The CAP Code requires gambling marketing to be socially responsible and not directed at under-18s, and says no-one who is or seems to be under 25 may be featured gambling or playing a significant role, with a narrow exception on an operator's own transactional site.Source: Advertising Standards Authority and CAP
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected] with the page and the source. We re-read the source and correct the page. If a business is on the list and should not be, or is missing from it, send the register entry, because the register decides.
